Interested in Becoming a Foster Carer?

Most potential carers understand that fostering can sometimes be difficult and challenging. However, they also believe that the rewards are worth it… and they’re right.

Becoming a foster carer can be a hugely fulfilling experience because you have the opportunity to make a real difference to the lives of vulnerable children and young people. From a personal and emotional point of view, it can be extremely rewarding to see a young person stabilise, grow and thrive in your care. Whether it be a short- or long-term placement, carers have the opportunity to provide a safe, nurturing home to a young person during a difficult period in their life. We want foster children to feel like one of the family, growing in confidence and self-esteem whilst in your care. Together, we aim to help them achieve their potential in life.

Simply put, not many jobs are more important or come with greater job satisfaction. In addition, recognition of the important part that foster carers play, fostering also comes with financial rewards and benefits to help you in the role you perform.

“On any one day there are 54,000 children living in foster care in the UK. Estimates show there is a shortage of 10,000 foster carers.”
